The Union Gospel is a project centered around the music of songwriters Dejha Colantuono and Mike Squires. The Union Gospel was conceived in 2012 when Colantuono and Squires began writing songs together remotely between Seattle and NYC. Over the last five years they recorded a full length album which they co-produced with acclaimed Producer and Engineer, Martin Feveyear. The recording features the likes of seasoned players such as, Joe “Bass” Skyward, Jeff Wood, Jonny Cragg, and Eric Corson, to name a few. The tracks boast a variety of genres but is ultimately an homage to Classic Rock icons of the duo’s early youth. The Union Gospel’s full length, self titled, album will be released in the digital world on January 19th 2019 with vinyl LPs to follow in early summer. The music and the photography of Jackie Neale inspired a video project where the duo (and trio) would record songs by some of their favorite artists in the subways of New York appropriately titled The Subway Series.
